The Past

Modern Hydraulics was founded in the mid-1950s by a group of house movers, one of whom was the late Pete
Freisen, to build and sell unified jacking machines. |
| The design was
mechanically very unsophisticated, so they hired a young engineer
from England, my Father, Robin Renshaw. He was able to redesign the
unified machine into what we know it as today, and he designed the
first crib jacks. |

The owners of the company
had envisioned many sales and lots of income and were disappointed
when this didn't happen. By the late 1950s control of the designs
and manufacturing was passed to Robin. |
